St. Michael’s College welcome's you
We wholeheartedly welcome you all to St. Michael's family. May the Almighty shower all his choicest blessings abundantly on each one of you. The community of St. Michael’s college built on a strong foundation of truth and justice stands under the guardianship and protection of the patron saint of this college, St. Michael, the Archangel. The establishment of the college in the year 1967 has been the fruitful outcome of the strenuous endeavor of Rt. Rev .Dr Michael Arattukulam, the first Bishop of the Diocese of Alleppey. The institution has successfully attained accreditation with B+ grade from National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC).

St. Michael’s College Library was established on 27th July 1967 with a collection of 1693 Books.  The Library is situated at the southern side of the college.  The Library has now a collection of   about  
The college has a well established library which caters to the need of the undergraduate and post graduate students, research scholars and the faculty. This fully automated library functions on an open access system. 
The Library was established on 27th July 1967 with a collection of 1693  Books. The new library complex was inaugurated by H.E. Rt. Rev. Dr. Stephen Athipozhiyil, Bishop of Alleppey and Patron of the college on 27thNovember 2009. Drawing its inspiration from renowned libraries in the state, this modern research centre will serve scholars, researchers, students and the public at large. It is a joint venture of the College Management, UGC and St.Michael's College Alumni Association(SMAAC). The Library has now a collection of   about  18000 books and 72 periodicals.

WORKING HOURS
The Library shall be open from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm on all working days.
ORGANISATION OF THE LIBRARY
For the functional convenience, the Library is divided into two sections - Library & Reading Room and Reference section.

1. LIBRARY & READING ROOM; The books are stocked in this section and the following functions are done.

1.1 Property Counter; Members are advised to keep their personal belongings  including  handbags, hats, attach cases,  printed materials, umbrella etc. in the Property counter. 
1.2. Circulation 
1.2.A. Books; Members are requested to bring their identity card whenever they visit the Library.  The members must apply for the Books in the prescribed Application slip and a Book is issued on loan on producing the Library Card & Membership Card in addition to the Identity Card. When a book  is issued, the Class Numbers, Date of Issue,  Acc. No, Name of the student and signature are recorded in the Issue Register and the Acc. No. & Date of issue are noted in the Library Card.  The books are issued for a period of 7 days to the students and one month for the staff. 
1.2.B. Periodicals; Periodicals are kept in the Periodicals Cabinet with Back volumes in the Pigeon holes.  Periodicals are not issued outside of the Library.
2. REFERENCE SECTION; The Library has a good collection consisting of various Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, Year Books, Atlases, Biographies etc. 
 As a service to our students and faculty, St.Michaels College has computer labs that are open to all students. The computer lab has a lot of facilities. The teachers are well experienced enough to clear any kind of doubts.
